Friends on the Other Side
Assets and weapons for the Jac and the Beanstalk redesign.
This guy’s designs are very cool. Great weapons, I love the maquahuitl-ish club.

People who only value photorealistic art are not the kind of people that should be judging art.
EDIT- Apparently I’m an elitist for saying that, although being called an elitist on the internet is certainly no indication that you are one. Maybe you’re right though, maybe I am an elitist.
When I see people criticizing art for not being “real” enough, saying outright that photorealism is the highest form of art, I get fucking pissed. Because that’s just plain ignorant. Art is creation just as much if not more than it is recreation of existing visuals. To create something exactly as it exists in reality is not the highest calling for an artist, nor should it be. Art is fun and passionate, and it should not be reduced to cold, hard science, as if there is some way to “win” art by making something realistic.
So by all means, continue relegating gorgeous works of art to “kiddy cartoons”. You are totally free to celebrate your aggressive ignorance, and feed your misguided desire to appear all grown-up. But don’t mind me while I look down my elitist nose at you and completely ignore your useless opinion.
Just like someone who loves music would never say they only value Classical, someone who loves art would never say they only value photorealism. If you don’t love art then why should I care what you think of it?
Redesign of my three resistance foot-soldiers.
I decided to keep the frontman mostly the same and pretty much completely scrap the other two. Now the scout is an Indian woman instead of trollface Zorro. The blonde guy in the middle is a newbie infantryman. Got rid of ancient, blonde lion-face, and made nose-scar a tad older.
I am obsessed with this game and I am obsessed with hex maps. I want everything cartographed in a hexagonal fashion from now on. Redo all the cartographs at once!
#can we just take a moment to appreciate animation here #so lets look at rapunzel #where you can just tell she’s imaging that lantern rising and what it’s going to feel like #and you can see her holding her breath #trying to figure out if all this is true #and then there is flynn #MOTHER FUCKING FLYNN RIDER #HE REALIZES HOW MUCH THIS MEANS TO HER #AND HE CAN’T HELP BUT SMILE #BECAUSE HE’S BEEN ON ONE OF THE CRAZIEST ADVENTURES IN THE PAST TWO DAYS AND IT’S ALL FOR THIS GIRL #AND HE DIDN’T REALIZE IT UNTIL NOW #THIS IS THE MOMENT WHEN HE REALIZES #WOW #RAPUNZEL IS MY NEW DREAM #I’M DONE THIEVING #I WANT TO BE WITH THIS GIRL #BECAUSE SHE IS LITERALLY THE BEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO ME
It really is incredible what animators can convey with subtlety and grace, even though most people will totally take it for granted. This is just a small moment in Tangled and it has more life in it than a lot of live action films. It’s a wonder that things like this are somehow considered less mature.
